Our experience in the oil and gas industry is extensive. We have acted as trial and appellate counsel for the promoters of oil and gas investment partnerships as well as the partnerships themselves, and have successfully defended numerous multi-million dollar claims of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty brought by investors in those partnerships. To date, one of those claims, which sought over $150 million in damages, has been settled on extremely advantageous terms to our clients, while all claims asserted in two other actions have been dismissed in their entirety on motions, with such dismissals affirmed in one case by the New York Appellate Division, and in the other case by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
